My client, a global asset manager is hiring a highly experienced and detail-oriented Compensation Financial Manager to manage and reconcile compensation-related transactions for our global workforce. This role ensures the accurate accounting of payroll, incentive compensation, and benefits in accordance with internal policies and controls. It also plays a vital role in supporting financial reporting, audits, and cross-functional collaboration with Payroll, HR, Accounting, and external auditors.
The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in compensation accounting, maintain the highest level of confidentiality, and bring a proactive, solution-oriented mindset to a dynamic work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately record and reconcile payroll, benefits, and incentive compensation transactions across domestic and international entities.
- Ensure proper accounting and financial reporting of all payroll components, including earnings, deductions, taxes, and accruals.
- Analyze new earning and deduction codes to ensure appropriate treatment across Workday, ADP, and general ledger systems.
- Investigate and explain variances in compensation expense and identify key cost drivers.
- Prepare detailed documentation and analysis to support internal and external audit requests.
- Conduct balance sheet and P&L reconciliations for compensation-related accounts.
- Draft and maintain policies and procedures related to compensation accounting and system integrations.
- Ensure timely and accurate data flow between HRIS, payroll systems, and financial platforms.
- Partner with HR, Payroll, and Accounting teams to support cross-functional initiatives and improve processes.
- Support ad hoc projects and provide financial insights or analysis for senior leadership.
Qualifications:
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in compensation-related accounting, including U.S. and international payroll operations.
- Deep understanding of accounting principles and internal controls related to payroll and benefits.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Workday, ADP, and related payroll/accounting systems.
- Proven ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail.
