Job Overview
The Summer Youth Employment Program is designed to provide young individuals with valuable work experience while fostering personal and professional growth. Participants will engage in a variety of activities that promote skill development, mentorship, and community involvement. Responsibilities
- Assist in mentoring youth participants, guiding them through their work experiences and helping them develop essential skills.
- Facilitate training sessions focused on workforce development, covering topics such as interviewing techniques, resume building, and workplace etiquette.
- Educate participants on various career paths and opportunities available in their communities.
- Support individuals with autism and developmental disabilities by providing tailored guidance and resources to ensure a successful work experience.
- Collaborate with local businesses to create job placements that align with participants' interests and skills.
- Engage in recruiting efforts to attract diverse candidates for the program.
- Provide support in social work initiatives, including addiction counseling when necessary, to ensure holistic participant development.
Experience
Ideal candidates will possess the following skills and experiences:
- Experience working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities is highly desirable.
- Background in mentoring or coaching youth is preferred.
- Familiarity with workforce development principles and training development strategies.
- Strong communication skills, particularly in educating and engaging young people.
- Experience in recruiting or interviewing candidates for job placements.
- Knowledge of social work practices or addiction counseling can be beneficial but is not mandatory.
