Position: Adjunct Instructor – GPH-GU 2995 Biostatistics for Public Health (Graduate)
Department: NYU School of Global Public Health - Biostatistics

Employment Dates: Fall 2025
This course covers basic probability, descriptive and inferential statistics, and the role of biostatistics in the practice of public health. Specific attention will be given to common probability distributions in public health and medicine, t-tests, Analysis of Variance, multiple linear and logistic regression, categorical data analysis, and survival analysis. Statistical topics are presented conceptually with little derivation, and applications are demonstrated using common statistical software, Stata and R. Compensation depends on level of experience.
Multiple sections are available:
Mondays: 4:55–6:35pm (Lecture); 6:45–7:45pm (Lab)
Tuesdays: 8:00–9:40am (Lecture); 9:50–10:50am (Lab)
Thursdays: 4:55–6:35pm (Lecture); 6:45–7:45pm (Lab)
Fridays: 10:00–11:40am (Lecture); 11:50am–12:50pm (Lab)
Courses begin the first week of September (except Monday sections, which begin Sept 8) and conclude the first week of December.
Qualified applicants will have an advanced degree in statistics or a related field (PhD preferred). Previous experience teaching introductory statistics is preferred.
