Capital Solutions
Our Capital Solutions Group provides capital-raising services for a wide variety of clients, from large, publicly held, multinational corporations to privately held companies either sponsor-backed or founded and run by entrepreneurs. In partnership with our Industry Coverage teams and Financial Sponsors Group, we combine superior sector knowledge and relationships with significant expertise in structuring and syndicating financings.
We approach each transaction with the goal of creating a capital structure that enables our clients to achieve their strategic objectives with the best terms available in the market. Houlihan Lokey has acted as a placement agent, an underwriter, or a strategic advisor for a wide variety of financings, including private issuances of leveraged loans, mezzanine debt, and minority equity as well as public offerings of common stock, equity-linked securities, and high-yield bonds.
Job Description
Houlihan Lokey’s Secondaries Advisory Group provides strategic advice and execution services to private equity sponsors and institutional investors navigating the fast-growing market for private equity secondary transactions. The group specializes in both GP-led transactions—such as continuation vehicles, single- and multi-asset restructurings, and tender offers—as well as LP portfolio sales and fund interest transfers. Members of the Secondaries Advisory Group work with a wide variety of private equity sponsors and institutional investors - across both industry and strategy – and work in tandem with Houlihan Lokey’s industry coverage, M&A and financial restructuring teams.
You will
- Interact with a broad range of businesses across different industries and with unique capital needs.
- Work side-by-side with a talented, dedicated staff of senior professionals who will provide broad exposure to the many different considerations affecting private equity liquidity needs
- Assist with evaluating and structuring customized financing alternatives for private equity sponsors, institutional investors, and their portfolio companies;
- Gain hands-on transaction experience by playing an integral role on deal teams from the initial pitch through closing;
- Develop general corporate finance and valuation skills relevant to raising capital, while building a detailed understanding of key developments in the equity and debt capital markets;
- The environment at Houlihan Lokey is collegial and entrepreneurial, and, as such, rewards financial analysts with substantial responsibility and interaction with senior-level professionals
- The ideal candidate will have at least one year of prior investment banking or buy-side private equity experience, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. While teamwork is essential to the firm’s success, creativity and new ideas are encouraged.
- Coursework in or strong knowledge of accounting and finance required
- Strong analytical capabilities and excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A fundamental understanding of valuation theory, methodologies, and application
- Strong financial and computer (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) skills
Houlihan Lokey is committed to providing its employees with an exciting career opportunity and competitive total compensation package, which may include other components such as discretionary incentive compensation. The firm’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible salary range for this role at the time of posting is:
$110,000.00-$130,000.00
Actual salary at the time of hire may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant qualifications, skills, and experience and the location where this position may be filled.
