About the Role
The New York Times is a creative environment where people with different backgrounds and skills come together to develop the products that deliver our journalism to millions of people around the world. As an Administrative Assistant, you will play a crucial role in the success of our executives and in building a culture for the team. You will support executives on the teams in Growth and Marketing, assisting with day-to-day tasks that help keep the department running smoothly.
It is critical that you have a “roll up the sleeves and get it done” attitude to ensure our teams run efficiently. You are a multitasker; extremely well organized, hands-on, proactive, and excited to be a part of an important brand.
You'll partner with department leaders, and will be the main contact for operations and staff support, fulfilling an important function in assisting our cross functional teams.

There will be multiple daily tasks that will be part of your responsibilities.
This is a New York-based position and must be available to work hybrid from our New York City office and you will report directly to the Manager, Consumer Revenue and Brand Operations
Responsibilities:
+ Manage calendars, scheduling meetings, handling visitors and booking conference rooms
+ Manage travel bookings of airfare / hotels / transportation
+ Prepare monthly expense reports & manage purchases within the department
+ Help with miscellaneous office management tasks
+ Coordinate for events like department All Hands and large group meetings
+ Attend weekly meetings, managing agendas, note taking and facilitating meeting deliverables
+ Help with presentations & documents for leadership teams
+ Communicate & coordinate with leadership teams
+ Provide operational support with special projects as they arise
+ Maintain department organizational charts, distribution lists, team lists & seating charts
+ Implement communication strategies across the department
+ Plan events, including lunches and social gatherings/activities, to cultivate an inclusive and friendly culture within the department
+ Build and manage relationships with different departments throughout the organization, and other administrative assistants
+ Handle multiple time-sensitive tasks simultaneously
+ Back-up support to other Administrative/Executive Assistants

Basic Qualifications:
+ Associate's Degree (or equivalent work experience)
+ 3+ years as an administrative or executive assistant
+ Maintain a high degree of confidentiality on all matters
+ You are collaborative in work style
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Experience with Workday
+ No task too big or small attitude

The hourly rate of base pay for this role is:
$35.71 — $41.21 USD
