Payroll Specialist

Description We are looking for a skilled Payroll Specialist to join our team in New York, NY, on a Contract-to-Permanent basis. In this role, you will oversee full-cycle payroll operations for a multi-state workforce of approximately 1,000 employees. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a respected institution in the higher education sector while ensuring payroll accuracy and compliance.



Responsibilities:

• Administer bi-weekly payroll processes for a diverse, multi-state employee population.

• Manage all aspects of full-cycle payroll, including data entry, review, and adjustments.

• Ensure compliance with state regulations and labor laws across various jurisdictions.

• Collaborate with HR teams to support onboarding and payroll setup for new employees.

• Handle payroll inquiries and provide exceptional customer service to staff members.

• Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure data integrity within ADP Workforce Now.

• Process payroll for non-union employees, ensuring timely and accurate payments.

• Address and resolve discrepancies in payroll calculations or employee records.

• Generate reports and provide insights related to payroll metrics and compliance.

• Work closely with internal teams to streamline payroll operations and improve efficiency. Requirements • Proficiency in ADP Workforce Now and experience managing payroll systems.

• Demonstrated ability to process bi-weekly, full-cycle payroll for a large workforce.

• Familiarity with multi-state payroll processes and state-specific compliance requirements.

• Strong customer service skills with the ability to address employee payroll concerns.

• Experience handling payroll for non-union employees.

• Excellent organizational and time management skills to meet strict payroll deadlines.

• Ability to analyze and resolve payroll discrepancies efficiently.

• Knowledge of onboarding processes and integration into payroll systems.
