Role Summary
The Manager, People Business Partner, Saks Off Fifth is a remote role ideally based in or near Florida or Texas. This position supports approximately 30 stores across Florida and Texas. As a part of the Saks Global People Team, you will play a critical role in providing HR support and services to these locations. The role involves partnering with Corporate HR COE’s to drive all Human Resources functions in the field, including Talent Acquisition, Talent Development, Coaching, Employee Relations, and Performance Management. The PBP Manager fosters an inclusive and engaged culture to support company goals and works closely with Store Directors, store leadership, and field leaders to address HR-related needs, employee relations, policy compliance, and communications.
Role Description
- Establish collaborative partnerships with Store Directors and leaders, serving as the HR expert for a multi-state area.
- Act as the primary contact for associate-related matters.
- Execute strategies in key areas: Associate Relations, Employee Engagement & Culture, Performance Management, Development, Training & Compliance, and Retention.
- Ensure HR policies comply with state and federal laws to minimize employment practice risks.
- Support company-wide engagement and culture initiatives.
- Partner with field leaders to identify high performers and build a strong talent bench, leading succession planning and talent management with Talent Development COE.
- Develop recruiting plans with TA to address regional needs.
- Coach team members at all levels.
- Collaborate on Individual Development Plans.
- Provide support through the Talent Mobility process, including interviews and onboarding.
- Conduct AR investigations promptly, providing strategic direction to mitigate risk in partnership with Asset Protection and Legal counsel.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field; 5-7 years of progressive HR experience, preferably with multi-unit responsibility.
- Strong knowledge of legal and regulatory HR requirements.
- Experience coaching, developing, and advising multiple management levels, including senior managers.
- Depth in employee relations, engagement, performance management, development, succession planning, and multi-state employment law.
- Decision-making skills: identifying issues, comparing data, choosing effective actions, and developing solutions.
- Proactive in anticipating team needs and providing clear communication.
- Approachable and problem-solving-oriented.
- Strong relationship-building across all organizational levels.
- High integrity and strong business acumen.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, work independently, and interact professionally with all employees.
- Experience with G Suite and Workday.
- Willingness to travel locally and regionally, up to 20%.
