Robert Half is partnering with an innovative life sciences company based in New York City that is looking for a Staff Accountant to join our growing accounting team. This role is ideal for someone early in their career who’s excited about contributing to a mission-driven company in a high-growth environment. You’ll support the monthly close, day-to-day accounting functions, and financial reporting, while working cross-functionally across teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and accruals
• Maintain the general ledger and support accurate financial reporting
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed
• Help manage expense reports and employee reimbursements
• Work closely with external auditors during the annual audit
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies
• Continuously identify opportunities to improve processes and workflows in a fast-paced, startup setting

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 1–4 years of accounting experience, preferably in a startup, life sciences, or tech environment
• Proficiency in NetSuite is required
• Strong Excel skills and comfort working with data
• Solid understanding of US GAAP
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-changing environment and juggle multiple priorities
