Morgan Stanley Investment Management (MSIM) is one of the largest global asset management organizations of any full-service securities firm, with 45 offices serving clients in 19 countries. MSIM’s professionals worldwide provide outstanding long-term investment performance. The Data & Analytics team works closely with MSIM’s teams as well as related control and support departments to enhance, streamline and govern the flow of information as part of our ongoing relationships with our clients and our management of client assets. This is a critical activity to enable scalable growth of our business. A key focus area of the team is the enablement of AI in MSIM with the goals to drive client impact, profitability, cost efficiency and scale.

Position Overview

We are looking for a skilled and passionate teammate to join us in the Data and Analytics team at Morgan Stanley. The successful candidate will be responsible for partnering with business areas across MSIM to launch Generative AI-based solutions. This role will liaise with and actively influence business areas (e.g. portfolio managers/Investment Teams), control functions, central AI teams and support functions to accelerate the adoption of AI.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive AI Adoption: Engage with MSIM teams to build, manage, prioritize and track AI business cases from inception to delivery. Identify KPIs and collect metrics to measure success of AI solutions. Act as the primary point of contact between MSIM and firmwide AI teams.
  • End to end governance: Ensure all GenAI projects adhere to regulatory and compliance standards by working in close partnership with Morgan Stanley’s control functions e.g. Legal, Risk and Compliance.
  • AI Experimentation: Experiment with the latest AI models and solutions available at Morgan Stanley. Drive end user pilots and collect feedback to deliver more effective AI solutions. Stay informed of latest AI trends and technologies and incorporate them into product strategy and development as appropriate.
  • Strategic Planning and Execution: Execute a strategic plan for the GenAI team, aligned with business goals. Monitor the performance and impact of GenAI use cases, providing regular updates to senior leaders globally.

Qualifications/Skills Required Or Preferred

  • Experience with and passion for Generative AI strategy / product management / experimentation or Innovation
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team to leverage their network and knowledge base to define abstract concepts from inception
  • Demonstrated track record of effective partnership with and translation between business teams, control partners and IT
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven experience in program or project management
  • Strong understanding of artificial intelligence concepts and technologies.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail
  • Appreciation of trade-offs when choosing between vendor solutions versus building in-house
  • Experience with agile development methodologies and tools (Scrum, JIRA, etc.)

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $110,000 and $140,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
