The technician will be responsible for assisting an Assistant Professor with the day-to-day needs of ongoing experiments involving animal and human research subjects.
This requires learning how to care for and maintain research subjects, and may require learning the basic details of research projects and how to analyze the resulting data.
Specifically, the technician will
- Perform day-to-day experiments involving the use of research subjects.
- Care for and maintain research subjects.
- Read scientific literature and understand the goals and rationale of research projects.
- Learn to analyze data using Matlab or Python or R and interpret the results.
- Occasionally be responsible for ordering supplies and equipment for the laboratory.
- Train or direct other technical staff.
Required to have at least a Bachelor's Degree in a related science or equivalent skills and experience, and zero to two years of experience.
Additional Information
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the hourly rates for this are listed below. This rate is based on the 1199 bargaining unit contract.

Maximum Salary Range
USD $28.18/Hr.
