Position Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Technician to join a cutting-edge research project using induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC)-derived neurons. This position is part of an initiative at the SNF Center for Precision Psychiatry, focusing on understanding the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying neuropsychiatric disorders. The successful candidate will contribute to the development and characterization of iPSC-derived neuronal models to study disease mechanisms and identify potential therapeutic targets.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Culturing and maintaining human iPSC lines, including generating iPSC-derived neurons and other neural cell types.
- Performing various assays to assess neuronal differentiation, including immunostaining, western blotting, and qPCR.
- Assisting with high-throughput screening of iPSC-derived neurons to identify molecular and functional biomarkers.
- Analyzing cellular and molecular data, including transcriptomics and proteomics, in collaboration with the research team.
- Maintaining detailed records of experimental procedures and results, including data entry into lab management systems.
- Maintaining laboratory equipment and ensuring that all research materials and reagents are stocked and up to date.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in neuroscience, cell biology, molecular biology, or a related field.
- Prior experience working with iPSCs, neuronal differentiation, or cell culture is strongly preferred.
- Strong laboratory skills, including PCR, immunohistochemistry, Western blotting, and microscopy.

- Familiarity with cell culture techniques and maintaining cell lines.
- Experience with basic molecular biology techniques and data analysis (e.g., RNA-seq, qPCR, proteomics) is an asset.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to adapt quickly and troubleshoot experimental challenges.
