ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for overseeing all aspects of the SYEP program.
Ensure all required program elements are provided as well as oversee the outreach, recruitment, application submission, enrollment, placement, and retention process very closely.
Make referrals as necessary for clients in need of additional services.
Supervise and coordinate all activities of staff; convene meetings with staff; plan and conduct participant orientation and work sponsor orientation.
Accountable for reviewing and approving all project-based activities; ensure project-based activities are being implemented.
Ensure all deadline dates are being met, all issues are being addressed, follow-up visits are being made, referrals are being properly made, and program participants timesheets are being calculated correctly.
Oversee program participant payroll process and collection of timesheets. Offer feedback to participants when issues occur regarding schedule payments; in addition to, approving all hours for participant payment through the DYCD/SYEP system.
Conduct initial inventory of all debit and ID cards prior to distribution to SYEP participants.
Maintain all program records ensuring all program reports and verification tools are submitted to DYCD on a timely basis.
Maintain contact with DYCD officials and staff throughout the program period.
Maintain contact with the work sponsors throughout the program period and provide them all required information and assistance.
Complete all required reports, including program closeout.
Assist with any program activity deemed necessary by Director of Youth Employment Programs.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Provide guidance and supervision to SYEP team members; provide leadership and direction to team members to ensure the delivery of high performance, acting as an enthusiastic, positive and motivated coach.
Responsible for the performance management of the team to ensure that quality and deadlines are achieved and maintained and that any issues are managed in line with RiseBoro policies, procedures and guidelines.
Work with Business Manager and Recruitment Coordinator to ensure all programs are appropriately staffed at all times.
Coordinate training programs for new staff and identify training needs for current staff.
Ability to understand the concepts of institutional and structural racism and bias and their impact on underserved and underrepresented communities
Have a demonstrated commitment to supporting communities who have experienced systemic oppression and bias (e.g. people of color, LGBTQ+ people, immigrants, justice involved persons, etc.)
COMPETENCIES
A minimum of three years of related experience which may include experience supervising and managing youth development or workforce development services for youth
Experience in supervising staff
Excellent organizational and written/verbal communication skills
Microsoft Office proficiency (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus
Must be able to multi-task and meet set deadlines
