Join the Amazon Books Editorial team and help customers discover great books. The Books Editorial publishes the Amazon Book Review, selects the Best Books of the Month and the Best Books of the Year (So Far) and The Best Books of the Year, works closely with authors and publishers to highlight their books to customers, and works across Amazon teams.
This editor position will be responsible for reading and reviewing for the Best Books program, writing regular posts for the Amazon Book Review, interviewing authors, and working to ensure that customers learn about great books. As part of the team, they will help develop strategic initiatives and regularly engage with the publishing industry as a spokesperson and representative of Amazon.
In particular, this editor will have a deep knowledge, expertise, and passion for identifying, reading, and writing about Science Fiction & Fantasy, YA, and Children's books.
This role requires a passion for reading, books and celebrating the authors and the written word as well as strong writing skills, attention to detail, thinking big, bias for action, spokesperson experience, and strategic thinking.
Key job responsibilities
Evaluate and select works across Mystery, Thriller, and Suspense
Develop content strategy and oversee publication of the Amazon Book Review
Monitor market trends and emerging sub-genres
Create engaging content for digital and social experiences
Collaborate with marketing team on promotion strategies
Maintain relationships with publishers and literary agents
Basic Qualifications
10+ years experience in the publishing industry
Significant content strategy experience
Extensive knowledge of MTS, including classical works and contemporary trends
Exceptional writing and editorial skills
Demonstrated analytical and trend forecasting abilities
Preferred Qualifications
Social media expertise
Experience creating content for literary audiences
Understanding of online fan communities and engagement strategies
Content creation skills (video, graphics, writing)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $102,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $178,100/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
