About the Team & Role
The Liquidity team specializes in providing financial products such as non-recourse financing and secondary sales for executives and employees of the leading pre-IPO companies. We are a client facing team that works closely with prospects, clients, and investors to guide them through their complex private company equity journey.
The Associate that joins the team will have a hand building out the Liquidity business. As a small team, everyone on the Liquidity team is responsible for executing on all areas of the business. This Associate will spend the first 6-12 months learning about the business and focusing on the operational processes of our financial products. The role will eventually expand to include business development responsibilities once the Associate demonstrates a strong understanding of our products, processes, and the industry.
We are looking for individuals who have a genuine desire to learn about the venture capital and startup ecosystem while growing a business. This individual is a team player who is not afraid to get their hands dirty by taking ownership of multiple processes and projects, and executes in a timely manner. As this is a client facing role, we are looking for individuals who enjoy working with clients on a daily basis and can demonstrate an ability to build a network in the venture capital ecosystem.
This is an in-office position based out of our New York office located in the Financial District of Manhattan.
Responsibilities
- Work with clients to ensure a smooth and efficient onboarding and contracting process.
- Lead projects that will help improve efficiencies and streamline actions for the Liquidity team.
- Prepare materials and participate in client pitch meetings.
- Maintain and update CRM with accurate client information to ensure smooth dealflow.
- Identify potential clients and generate new business opportunities within target companies.
- Develop and maintain technical and non-technical documentation and playbooks to assist with defining processes.
What You Bring
- 2+ years experience at a fintech, asset management firm, or financial services firm.
- Good attitude with a willingness to step in wherever needed.
- Team player with the ability to multitask, work under pressure, and resolve problems.
- Ability to meet deadlines, while still maintaining flexibility to prioritize and execute in order to meet client and firm needs.
- Commitment to promoting best practices in the application of policies, procedures, and processes.
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience in high growth VC backed company or investment fund
- Strong understanding of private company equity compensation
- Series 7 and 63 - If you do not hold these licenses, you will need to obtain them in the first year of employment. Secfi will provide time and support for your studies.
