Our Client is seeking a talented Graphic Designer to support the reinvention of their visual curriculum materials for virtual mental health programming. This contract role offers the opportunity to influence the visual direction of high-impact therapeutic content and to shape the experience for thousands of patients participating in group therapy each month.
You Will:
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers and Clinical Writers to reimagine the format and visual structure of curriculum materials used in group therapy sessions
- Develop and evolve a visual language that includes an updated color palette, refined illustration style, and an overall aesthetic grounded in calm, abstract, and surrealist themes using gradients and soft hues
- Create a comprehensive style guide to inform content development and ensure visual consistency across hundreds of Google Slide-based therapy decks
- Design templates and visual elements that evoke the desired “vibe” — using flowing shapes and non-literal design approaches to communicate complex mental health topics
- Build a design toolkit to streamline and accelerate future curriculum development, ensuring scalability across thousands of slides and multiple therapy programs
- Work iteratively based on clinician and patient feedback to refine the visual presentation of therapeutic content over time
- Support the transition from clinician-built slide decks to professionally designed materials that enhance engagement and comprehension for high-acuity patients
- Leverage tools such as Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and Google Slides to bring creative concepts to life in a scalable and structured way
- Contribute to long-term design planning and the potential expansion of visual design support across additional content areas and internal teams
- Strong experience in brand design, illustration, and graphic design with an eye for detail and visual storytelling
- Proficiency in design tools including Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and Google Slides
- The ability to translate abstract concepts into visually soothing, flowing, and patient-friendly graphics
- A collaborative mindset and comfort working with clinical subject matter experts, project managers, and writers to shape design direction
- A portfolio that demonstrates the ability to develop cohesive visual systems and adapt those systems across multiple formats and contexts
- Experience designing curriculum or therapeutic content is a plus, especially within mental health or healthcare contexts
- The ability to handle both strategic visual planning and hands-on design production with equal confidence
- A passion for creating work that supports mental health outcomes and positively impacts vulnerable populations
- Start Date/Duration: Starting ASAP
- Hours/Week: 40 Hours/Week
- Onsite/Offsite: Hybrid in NYC
- Laptop/Software Requirements: Client-Provided Laptop & Software
- Background Check: Yes
- Salary/Rate: $50-$60/Hour DOE
