Job Title: Patient Care Technician (PCT)
Shift: Day/Evening/Night Shift
Location: Brooklyn, NY 11213
Pay: $$20-$25/hr
Length: 3 Months (Possible Extension)
Preferred Skills & Requirements:
- Experience in psychiatric/mental health settings
Education & Certifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Certificate from an approved Patient Care Technician (PCT) program (with EKG and phlebotomy skills)
- Basic Life Support (BLS/BCLS) certification required
Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Patient Care Technician (PCT) with experience in psychiatric care for a night shift position in Brooklyn, NY. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering direct patient care and related support in a timely and effective manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide routine personal care (bathing, dressing, hygiene)
- Assist with meals and feeding
- Collect specimens and empty bedpans
- Safely transfer patients (including use of Hoyer lift)
- Take and record vital signs accurately
- Assist with patient transport and ambulation
- Perform range of motion (ROM) exercises
- Conduct point-of-care glucose testing per guidelines
- Document all care activities per facility policy
