Overview
Under the general supervision of the Unit Manager is responsible for providing nursing care to the patients in the Medical/Surgical Department.
Responsibilities
- * Assesses patients biopsychosocial needs in an age-appropriate manner and with a knowledge of patient growth and development.
- * Develops plan of care and communicates to other members of the health care team.
- * Administers and delivers the plan of care, utilizing patient care standards in clinical practice.
- * Evaluates outcomes and modifies the plan of care as necessary.
- * Educates patient and family on plan of care and their responsibilities, including post-discharge.
- * Collaborates with all members of the health care team.
- * Provides clinical supervision to appropriate health care team members, delegating tasks and overseeing performance of duties.
- * Documents all information applicable to patient care in patient/departmental record.
- * Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
- Indicates an Essential Job Function.
Other Job Duties
Maintains competencies in individual field of responsibility.
Participates in the interview and evaluation of new health care team members.
Acts as preceptor for new health care team members.
Utilizes computer systems as they pertain to job responsibilities and in accordance with hospital policy.
Assures a safe environment and milieu in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.
Participates in MMC’s ongoing Quality Performance Improvement initiatives; identifies opportunities for organizational improvements.
Performs Other Related Duties As Required.

Qualifications
BASIC COMPETENCIES
Education
Graduation from an accredited school of Nursing school required; BSN preferred.
Current NYS licensure as RN required.
Pay Range
USD $118,370.50 - USD $118,370.50 /Yr.
