The RoleAs a Business Development Specialist, you'll be the bridge between your existing and new investment banking/private equity network and businesses that need working capital solutions. You will be responsible for the planning, execution and closing of new business sales in the commercial/financial services industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leverage your network of investment bankers, private equity professionals, and financial contacts to generate new business
- Present comprehensive working capital solutions to company executives (CEOs, CFOs, Presidents)
- Structure and negotiate financing proposals for middle-market companies
- Support and implement any new sales/marketing initiatives to grow company business.
- Develop, present and negotiate financing proposals for prospective clients.
- Participate in industry trade shows and networking events
- Collaborate with underwriting teams to close transactions efficiently
- Generate and close several significant transactions annually
- Maintain and expand network of referral sources
- Maintain a strong network of financial professionals including commercial and investment bankers, asset-based lenders, equity and debt sponsor groups, accountants, attorneys and business consultants.
- Achieve individual revenue targets through both new business and referrals
- 3+ years of experience in investment banking or private equity, specifically in business development
- Established network of investment bankers and/or private equity professionals
- Strong understanding of corporate finance and deal structures
- Proven sales and relationship-building capabilities
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Willingness to travel up to 50%
- Ability to work remotely from one of the following cities: Dallas, North Carolina, New York
- 50% travel for onsite collaboration and customer visits
- Competitive salary of $80,000 - $160,000 (based on experience), plus commission
