About The Role

We are looking for a Backend Software Engineer, based either in our New York office or working remotely from the US East Coast. You Will Join The Query Engine Team, In Charge Of Advancing The Art And Science Of Transforming Customer Data Into Insights. You Will Expand The Available Query Capabilities And Evolve The Data Model Underneath The Products, All While Ensuring The Performance Offers a First-class Customer Experience.

What you will do

Design, develop and manage back-end components and APIs using Node.js and Typescript, pushing our microservices architecture forward to support large-scale data and low-latency needs. Explore and analyse the performance of the analytics database, suggesting and executing improvements that keep latency and scalability in line with the company targets. Drive improvements across the entire backend and data stacks, with a strong product-performance mindset.

Cross-Team Collaboration

Work closely with agile, cross-functional teams, including engineers, product managers and designers. Enable Application teams to build cutting-edge capabilities with outstanding experience and performance. Collaborate with data generation, ingestion and aggregation to set the foundations for a robust, but flexible unified data pipeline. Provide focused support for the domain, reacting and addressing customer needs both internally and externally.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

• Position available for Backend or data engineers in the early stages of their career. Requires a robust foundation in backend development, particularly concerning data-intensive systems and the creation of clean, reliable and well-structured APIs.
• Proficiency in SQL is essential, emphasizing performance and optimization.

Nice to Have

• Exposure to Scala, Go, or Python in production environments.
• Experience with ClickHouse or other columnar databases for high-volume analytics.
• Contributions to open-source projects, tech talks, or engineering blogs.
