S9 Architecture is an award-winning full-service design firm composed of 50+ designers dedicated to designing everything from interior spaces to buildings and neighborhoods that respectfully integrate and enhance communities and cities.
S9 Architecture is seeking a dynamic and strategic Marking Manager to lead the firm’s marketing, communications, and business development strategies to strengthen brand visibility, foster client engagement, and support growth objectives. Working closely with firm leadership, design teams, and external partners, this role oversees all marketing initiatives, from pursuit strategies and proposal development to digital presence and communications. This position will oversee the work of a Marketing Coordinator, providing direction and encouraging continuous learning.
We’re Excited To Meet You If You Have
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field; experience or education in Architecture, Design, or the AEC industry highly preferred.
- 8–10+ years of progressive experience in marketing, with at least 3 in a leadership role, ideally in an architecture, design, or professional services firm.
- Strong writing, editing, and communication skills.
- Proven experience developing strategy and managing complex proposal processes.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, CRM platforms (e.g., Deltek Vision or Vantagepoint), and website/CMS tools.
- Ability to lead, collaborate, and communicate effectively across teams.
Strategic Marketing & Branding
- Develop and implement an integrated marketing strategy aligned with the firm’s vision, market positioning, and business development goals.
- Oversee brand management, ensuring consistency across all internal and external communications.
- Identify and evaluate emerging market opportunities and align firm messaging accordingly.
- Partner with principals and studio leaders on client engagement strategies and pursuit planning.
- Manage the proposal and qualifications process, including strategy, content development, and graphic design oversight.
- Develop compelling presentations, interview materials, and project narratives.
- Lead creation of marketing content, including firm brochures, case studies, award submissions, and project write-ups.
- Manage public relations, media outreach, and press opportunities.
- Oversee social media and website content strategy to elevate the firm’s online presence.
- Lead weekly meetings with Partners including itemizing open tasks and scheduling of near and long term deliverables
- Manage and mentor the marketing coordinator, mentorship, and performance reviews.
- Develop and manage the marketing budget.
- Coordinate with consultants (graphic designers, PR firms, photographers, etc.) as needed.
- Track marketing campaign performance, proposal hit rates, and business development metrics.
- Provide regular reports to leadership on marketing ROI and recommendations for improvement.

Compensation: $100,000-$120,000 based upon experience, qualifications and education.
