Audit Principal – PCAOB | Financial Services

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Audit Principal with deep expertise in PCAOB audits and a strong focus on the financial services sector. This is a unique opportunity that begins with a two-year rotation in the Excellence & Quality (E&Q) Department, leading to a transition into client service and PCAOB audit leadership. This role is designed as a pathway to partnership, ideal for professionals who are passionate about audit quality, technical excellence, and client service.

Key Responsibilities:

Excellence & Quality Focus (First 2 Years):

• Develop and deliver training programs centered on PCAOB standards and best practices.
• Conduct quality reviews and offer technical guidance on complex PCAOB audit matters.
• Enhance audit methodology in alignment with evolving PCAOB and firm standards.
• Support the PCAOB inspection process and drive continuous quality improvement.
• Partner with firm leadership on strategic audit quality initiatives.

Client Service Focus (Post-Two-Year Rotation):

• Lead PCAOB audit engagements for financial services clients, including banks, broker-dealers, hedge funds, private equity funds, and 11-Ks.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, providing insights on regulatory changes and audit compliance.
• Manage teams, ensure audit quality and timeliness, and oversee complex audit processes.
• Mentor and develop junior professionals within the assurance team.
• Support growth initiatives through client relationship management and business development.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Active CPA license
• Minimum 10 years of experience in PCAOB audits, with a focus on financial institutions
• Strong knowledge of SEC reporting, PCAOB standards, ICFR, and US GAAP
• Proven leadership, project management, and client relationship skills
• High attention to detail, analytical thinking, and a commitment to audit excellence

Compensation:

• Base salary range: $100,000 – $140,000, commensurate with experience
