Member Development Specialist (MDE)
Salary: $65,000 - 70,000 + 15 - 20K OTE (but commission isn't capped at)
Location: New York, NY (Hybrid)
Our client, a respected global organization focused on delivering insights and services to senior business leaders, is looking for a Member Development Specialist to join their high-performing sales support team. This role plays a critical part in supporting U.S. Sales Directors by identifying new business opportunities, preparing engagement materials, and helping drive meaningful conversations with C-suite executives.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional with strong research, communication, and organizational skills who thrives in a fast-paced, consultative sales environment.
What You’ll Do:
- Partner closely with U.S. Sales Directors to prepare for prospect meetings by conducting background research on companies, identifying industry trends, and understanding key prospect needs.
- Assist in the growth of existing member accounts by identifying upsell opportunities and providing relevant insights.
- Proactively research and identify new leads, referrals, and strategic entry points into target organizations.
- Create customized proposals, follow-up materials, and communications to support the full sales cycle.
- Manage CRM records and help streamline the sales process from initial outreach to proposal.
- Support the broader sales function with ad hoc projects and administrative needs as required.
What We’re Looking For:
- 2–3 years of post-graduate experience in a sales, business development, or sales support role.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Experience with lead generation, appointment setting, or sales research is a strong plus.
- Proven ability to support or manage the sales lifecycle, from prospecting through close.
- Excellent organizational skills, with a detail-oriented and proactive mindset.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to tailor messaging for executive audiences.
- Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision, yet collaborative in team settings.
- Familiarity with various business sectors and functions, enabling effective targeting and personalization.
- Customer-focused with a high standard of professionalism and service delivery.
- Adept at managing multiple projects, timelines, and deliverables simultaneously.
