The recruiting process is incredibly inefficient for companies and fundamentally broken for candidates.

Fonzi is reinventing how companies hire, helping them hire better candidates more quickly. We use AI to conduct phone screens and find the top candidates for the role, cutting out weeks from the hiring process. For candidates, they can apply and get interviewed at any time, giving everyone a fair chance to showcase their background and experiences.

Fonzi launched in beta in November 2024 and we've already helped multiple companies make hires. About the role

We are looking for an ambitious, self-directed engineer who loves building in a rapidly iterative environment. As a software engineer at Fonzi, you’ll be transforming how recruiting is done. You'll help make recruiters more productive while improving the experience for candidates.

Our engineering team is lean and ships quickly. We are looking for someone who is unreasonably effective at building software and creating value for users. This role reports directly to the Co-founder / CEO. This role is hybrid. Our team is in the Williamsburg office 4 days a week.

• Own the development of an AI-native hiring platform.
• Talk to recruiters to understand their problems and design solutions.
• Collaborate with the entire company to help connect great talent with great companies.

Requirements

• 3+ years of software engineering experience at tech and product-driven companies.
• Strong proficiency with React and TypeScript.
• Strong proficiency with APIs and SQL databases.
• Hands-on DevOps experience.
• Strong interest in AI and/or experience building with LLMs.
• Proven track record of shipping software and delivering business impact.
• Ability to move fast in an environment where things are sometimes loosely defined and may have competing priorities or deadlines.
